Every part reconstructed down to the last detail
Not only has the design of the kit been redesigned based on the original design from when it was released in 2000, but the design has also been re-examined based on the anime, updating not only the overall silhouette but also the design and details of each individual part, including the face, arms, legs, torso and tail.
While maintaining the original GENO SAURER silhouette, the team aimed to create a modern, highly detailed GENO SAURER by updating the design of the details. From this stage onwards, the design was proceeded under the assumption that the leg support bars would not be used. Therefore, the size of each part was adjusted with the weight balance in mind, assuming this. Additional adjustments were made to the shape of the details in the final model, in pursuit of a more modern "GENO SAURER" design.
The final sketch of the side view was created based on the final sketch of the overall design. 3D data was created based on the sketch, and adjustments were made to the overall design and each part of the design.
The neck can be manually transformed into the charged particle cannon firing form found on the original GENO SAURER, but now also has a mechanism that allows it to move in tandem with walking. This makes the movement when walking more dynamic. Inside, a frame with mechanical details is built in, with the intention of making it more convincing as a metallic lifeform.
The arms are equipped with a manual movement gimmick, allowing the user to freely pose them with their hands. The elbows are equipped with cylinders, which allow them to actually expand and contract when the elbows move. Not only the wrists, but each of the claws can also move individually, allowing for a variety of different appearances.
Details have been added to the back of the large fins, a distinctive feature of GENO SAURER, with the heat dissipation mechanism in mind. The golden cylinder is also reproduced in the product, and can expand and contract in tandem with the robot's walking motion. Furthermore, the armor caps that were used as decorative parts in the original GENO SAURER have been changed to caps that actually secure the frame, updating the robot to be more like a Zoid with a built-in mechanism. Furthermore, the weapon joint function that was present in these decorative caps has been maintained by providing a separate joint, ensuring expandability.
Pursuit of realism in movement, dynamism, and a sense of vitality
From the beginning of development, we focused on recreating the movement and walking of a bipedal dinosaur, and reviewed the power structure of the legs. By realizing a walking action that does not require an auxiliary bar, we have achieved an even more realistic expression of a living organism.
In order to pursue the realism of Zoids as metallic lifeforms, verification of internal movement was carried out from the early stages. In addition to the interlocking mechanism with the newly added link mechanism in the neck and tail, walking verification without the auxiliary bar was also carried out. The design data of the refined bipedal walking gimmick in the Zoids Wild series was fed back into the leg structure, and development was carried out with the aim of achieving a more stable walking movement than the original GENO SAURER.
Driven by a motor, it walks realistically as if it had life, and the whole body moves in tandem from head to tail.
The leg structure has been completely redesigned from the original GENO SAURER. The toes move in tandem with the walking motion, allowing it to move without the support bar traditional to bipedal Zoids.
The focused charged particle cannons in the eyes and mouth emit light. The neck moves up and down. The tail moves left and right. The Zoid core inside the chest glows. The toes of the legs open and close in conjunction with walking.
Each armor part can be moved, such as rotating the long-range pulse laser rifle on the back left and right, adjusting the elevation up and down, and opening and closing the cockpit hatch. In addition, by replacing the head weapon, it is possible to switch between mass-produced and special machines. By installing many movable parts, it creates a mechanical highlight as a weapon.
By replacing the head weapon, It is possible to switch between mass-produced machines and dedicated machines. The upper and lower neck armor can be opened and closed. The base rotates left and right, Furthermore, the elevation angle can be adjusted up and down. The tail base armor opens and closes. The tail exhaust fins can be opened or closed. The ventral cockpit hatch opens and closes. The claws on the arms can be opened and closed, and the elbows can be moved. Posing is possible. The cylinders in the arms extend and retract. The cylinders in the legs extend and retract. The leg vernier covers can be opened or closed. The leg anchors are movable.
Reexamination of the old kit and the settings in the anime
The suit's settings and design from the TV anime have also been re-examined. The "tail heat exhaust fin" that reproduces the firing form of the charged particle cannon that symbolizes GENO SAURER can be opened and closed, as well as the "leg anchor" movable and the "leg vernier cover" can be opened and closed.
In addition, a scale figure of the Imperial Geno GENO SAURER pilot "Raven" is included. The faithful reproduction of the scene in the anime is also an added element of the product's appeal.
Tail heat exhaust fin: The opening and closing of the tail exhaust fins during the charged particle cannon firing sequence depicted in the anime has been recreated.
Leg anchors and Vernier Cover: It reproduces the movement of the leg anchors and the opening and closing of the vernier cover during the charged particle cannon firing sequence depicted in the anime.
Raven 1/72 scale figure: A Raven figure is included that can fit into GENO SAURER 's abdominal cockpit. Also included is one 1/72 scale soldier figure that can be fitted into the abdominal cockpit.
